Upcoming changes to our Annual Election 🗳️
We wanted to give you a heads-up about some changes coming to our Annual Meeting this March. Due to a new Washington State regulation effective January 1, 2026, we are updating how we handle our Board elections.
What does this mean for you?
We need to get everything organized a little earlier this year! We will be using paper ballots, which means we need nominations in advance. We also need a few impartial neighbors to help count the votes on meeting night.
Run for the Board
Have you thought about joining leadership? We have 3 Board seats opening up in 2026, so now is the time to raise your hand! Here is a snapshot of what the Board does:
- Role: Represents the membership, sets policy, oversees budgets, and guides the community.
- Commitment: 2-year term; 2-4 hours/month (includes meetings & committee work).
If you are interested please reach out to the Board at hoa@goldcrestolympia.org with the information below —we’d love to answer any questions you have and get your information ready for the ballot.
- Name
- Phone
- Why do you want to join the Board?
- What skills would you bring?
Join the Election Committee
If you are not running for a Board position, we need your help distributing and counting the ballots to ensure a fair election. To ensure the integrity of the vote, current Board members and candidates may not participate in the election process or serve on this committee.
Please reply to hoa@goldcrestolympia.org to let us know if you’d like to join the committee. We’ll keep you posted as we get more details in early January!
